Abstract: Addressing the digital skills gap in vocational training programs is critical for ensuring that graduates are equipped with the necessary competencies to thrive in a technology-driven workforce. This study investigates the strategies and effectiveness of initiatives aimed at bridging the digital skills gap in vocational education. The objectives are: (1) to identify key digital skills required by employers in various industries, (2) to evaluate the current state of digital skills training in vocational programs, and (3) to propose solutions for enhancing digital literacy and proficiency among vocational students. A survey research design is utilized, justified by the need to collect comprehensive data from educators, students, and industry representatives on digital skills training and gaps. The sample size includes 400 participants selected through purposive sampling to represent stakeholders from diverse vocational training programs. The case study focuses on institutions in Anambra State, where efforts to integrate digital skills training into vocational curricula are underway. Findings revealed significant gaps in digital literacy and technical proficiency among vocational students, underscoring the need for targeted interventions. Stakeholders emphasized the importance of updating curricula, providing access to digital resources, and fostering partnerships with tech companies for practical training. Recommendations include incorporating comprehensive digital skills modules into vocational programs, offering continuous professional development for educators, and establishing digital labs and resources to support hands-on learning.
